When you are gathering construction bids, be sure that the bids include a detailed cause breakdown of the proposed work and include the contact information, their name, address, phone number, and state of California contractors' license number.
Now let's take a look at a sample bid from a contractor. We start with a contractor's information first, confirm that they have a contractor's license number.
Contractor's information should include their name, address, phone number, email, and a completion date of the proposed work. Next is the provider's information.
That should include their name, address, phone number, email, and the project name. Now let's take a look at the scope of work.
The scope of work is an area that should be detailed and precise. As you can see on this bid, the contractor itemizes the work into two areas, fence and interior paint.
In addition, the bid includes the cost and scope of work of the specific areas that will be upgraded. The fence will cost $4,000, and the interior paint will cost $2,000.
If a fixture or appliance is included in the bid, they must also be itemized with their associated cost. Next is a summary of who will be completing the scope of work and a projection of the amount of time it will take for them to complete the project.
Next is the owner's acceptance of the work that will be done in your center or home. Please remember that has recommends to not sign anything until you have secured funds.
Lastly, here is a bid that is not complete and before collecting a bid. Here are some areas you want to confirm are not missing.
In this case, the bid is missing the following, the contractor's license number, the contractor's business name, the owner or provider's information such as their name and address, the project name.
As you can see, it only states house upgrade and the scope of work. The scope of work, as you can see, is not itemized and detailed, and it just states that it will cost $75,000 to upgrade the interior of the home.
