Large license FCCs, licensed on or before 8/1/21, can apply to:
- Recover lost capacity (enroll the same or close to the same number of children from before the disaster) as a result of a state or federally declared disaster.
- Open a childcare center.
A small family child care home can use these funds to expand their capacity to a large family child care home. A large family child care home has reached their max capacity of 14 children and therefore would not be eligible to expand their capacity under their current license. Large FCCs recovering lost capacity due to a state or federally-declared disaster may be eligible to apply.
If the FCC provider received their expanded license after 8/1/21 and has expenses related to that, the provider could potentially apply for reimbursement. The provider would need to provide proof of payment for those expenses and be able to illustrate that the work is completed, or purchases made were directly related to their need to expand.
